Lead materials and shielding

Application

Breaks

Due to lead's ability to absorb X-rays and gamma radiation, lead bricks are used in nuclear energy, medicine, and laboratories with strong radiation sources. Often, lead bricks have shape of regular construction bricks, but there is also a form of lead brick known as "dovetail". This form prevents the appearance of direct through gaps in the protective wall, ensuring the tightness of joints through the use of grooves and protrusions.
